Meet Shah Atiqur Rahman, Software Engineering Manager, Listing Intelligence. We spoke with him about his function in leading our Listing Intelligence (Search) group and the methods in which he makes a distinction at Realtor.com. Here's what he said: Q. Tell us about your group. A. We own nine backend search services that are core to the business's success. One of the most crucial is the Search API, which powers results on the Search results page page. Our tech stack includes Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Elasticsearch, GraphQL, Docker, EKS and AWS artifacts. We also work carefully with the Machine Learning group to bring AI-driven features to the customer experience, such as search significance improvements and AI-powered search. We're a collective, friendly group that focuses on strong onboarding and constant support. New staff member are assisted through the ramp-up process till they're confident taking full ownership of their work. Each staff member is handy to other employee when dealing with obstacles. We value a culture where wins are celebrated freely, and problems are owned together. We also make time for team-building, whether it's virtual hangouts or in-person get-togethers, to keep camaraderie strong. Q. What's your biggest accomplishment so far at Realtor.com? A. I'm most happy with the expert growth I have actually achieved given that signing up with Realtor.com as a Software Engineer over 7.5 years back. Throughout this journey, I've established deep domain expertise, remained current with developing market practices, and consistently dealt with contemporary technologies. My commitment to constant learning and effect resulted in my promotion to Staff Software Engineer and my role as one of the team's technical leads. Most recently, I've handled the obligation of being the People Leader for the team-an exciting next action that allows me to support others in their growth while continuing to drive technical instructions. I take pride in the fact that my long period here hasn't slowed my growth-instead, it's been a platform for me to progress technically and take on higher management Q. What should somebody aiming to join us in #Tech know? A. Realtor.com offers interesting technical challenges, from large-scale data dealing with to real-time search, customization, and AI/ML combination. My group culture is highly collective, with a strong emphasis on mentorship, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional teamwork. #Engineers typically get possibilities to own important and difficult tasks, work cross-functionally, and step up into leadership or specialized functions.
